Katie Rose

California native Katie Rose makes her presence known with a unique blend of rock, country, and more on her debut album Carry On. This inspirational collection showcases the diverse background and eclectic tastes of the budding singer-songwriter, with eight of ten songs written by the artist exclusively for this brand new release. With a unique sound that will appeal to fans of everyone from Sheryl Crow to Norah Jones, this bold album carries throughout the inescapable strength and skill of one of today’s most talented and versatile new voices.

Katie’s musical journey began early.  By the age of ten, she had performed with Children Of the World, sharing the stage with the likes of Liza Minelli and Elizabeth Taylor.  Since then, she has dabbled in virtually every form of vocal performance, from musical theater to choral and classical.

As a student at Franciscan University in Ohio, Katie’s songwriting has come to intertwine art and faith, expressing her readily apparent love of beauty in music and religion.  Her songs speak to the healing, inspirational, and joyful nature of a deeply held faith.

About Carry On:

What this album reveals upon first listen is the apparent ease with which Katie moves from one genre to another, mixing in a little bit of everything before she's finished. Upbeat rockers like
Carry On and Junction Song feature the talented guitar of Mike Ofca, lead guitarist of Backyard Galaxy and producer/engineer of Carry On. More mellow, but no less focused, are what Katie calls her "chill out" selections, including You Take Me Away, a song based on personal experiences of love and joy - much like most of the album. But just when you think you've got a handle on where she's headed, along comes Stories, a jazz-piano piece that turns a corner on this album and shines with an intense but thoughtful spirituality. Rounded out by an a cappella four-part rendition of Ave Maris Stella, the Nashville-inspired That's Why, and a funky re-envisioning of Psalm 91, Carry On leaves the listener with the sense of a spiritual journey hidden in a polished and enjoyable pop-rock-jazz-and-everything-in-between record.
